(Antoine Jacques vindt de chocoladereep uit en op 8 februari 1936 vraagt hij er patent op aan. In 1896 werd door Jacques in het Belgische Verviers de chocoladefabriek opgericht met als doel chocolade, snoep en peperkoek te produceren. Hij stichtte samen met zijn vennoot, William Zurstrassen, de naamloze vennootschap Chocolaterie Jacques en bracht de productie in 1922 over naar Eupen. Vanaf dat moment stelt het bedrijf zich tot doel de kwaliteit van de chocolade te blijven verbeteren en geregeld nieuwe chocoladerepen en tabletten op de markt te brengen. In 1982 treedt de fabriek toe tot de Stollwerck-groep. Omdat de verkoop onophoudelijk stijgt, kunnen de oude installaties de productie niet meer aan en wordt er in 1986 een nieuwe fabriek gebouwd die in juli 1987 in gebruik wordt genomen. Halverwege 2002 neemt het Zwitsers concern Barry-Callebaut de hele Stollwerck-groep over.)
