(Eén van de populairste radioprogramma’s vóór en na de Tweede Wereldoorlog is “De Bonte Dinsdagavondtrein”. Voor 16 maart 1937 staat een optreden van Louis Davids gepland, maar hij moet vanwege een astma-aanval afzeggen. Producer René Sleeswijk laat in allerijl het revue-duo Willy Walden en Piet Muyselaar opdraven. Zij treden voor de allereerste keer op als de dames Snip en Snap. Het duo heeft aanvankelijk geen zin om in vrouwendracht oubollige grapjes uit te wisselen, maar wil voor één eenmalige radio-uitzending wel een uitzondering maken. Dit wordt een doorslaand succes. Vanaf 1961 zijn de Snip en Snap-revues ook op televisie te zien. Op 26 november 1977 treden Walden en Muyselaar voor het laatst op. Slechts een half jaar later overlijden zowel Piet Muyselaar als producent Sleeswijk betrekkelijk onverwacht. Willy Walden heeft daarna nooit meer een voet in een theater gezet. Willy Walden overlijdt op 14 maart 2003, ruim twee weken voor zijn 98ste verjaardag. Hij wordt in stilte gecremeerd.)

(Dr. Robert Goddard is een Amerikaans wetenschapper en uitvinder. Hij is pionier op het gebied van de moderne rakettechniek en wordt beschouwd als één van de belangrijkste grondleggers van de ruimtevaart. Op 1 november 1923 voerde hij testen uit met zijn eerste raketmotor die op vloeibare brandstof werkte. Goddard lanceerde de eerste raket met vloeibare brandstof op 16 maart 1926 in Auburn, Massachusetts. De raket bereikte een hoogte van 12,5 meter en landde 56 meter verderop. Op 31 mei 1935 bereikte een raket van Goddard een hoogte van 2300 meter. Op 26 maart 1937 haalt een andere raket een hoogte van 2750 meter, de grootste hoogte die met een raket van Goddard is bereikt. Op 1 mei 1959 wordt een belangrijk ruimtevaartlaboratorium van NASA gevestigd in Greenbelt, Maryland en vernoemd naar Goddard: het Goddard Space Flight Center.)
