(Enkele dagen later op 16 september 1925 wordt de hockeyclub HC Rotterdam opgericht. Het is met 2.342 leden (peildatum 1 januari 2006) de grootste hockeyclub van Nederland. De club telt drie water- en vier zandingestrooide kunstgrasvelden. Het terrein is, sinds de verhuizing in de zomer van 2001, gevestigd aan de Hazelaarweg (Rotterdam-Noord.)

(Op 18 oktober 1925 wordt in het Haagse Zuiderpark het ADO-stadion in gebruik genomen. In de nacht van zaterdag op zondag op 24 juni 2007 breekt er in het stadion brand uit. De nok van de tribune, een ruimte van ongeveer vijf bij veertig meter, is afgebrand. Het gaat daarbij om alle stoeltjes en de daarboven gelegen ramen. Een bruiloftsfeest, dat in de ondergelegen feestruimte aan de gang is, moet rond 2 uur in de nacht worden afgebroken. Niemand raakt gewond. Bij de oude Zuidtribune zijn, behalve de feestzaal, ook kantoorruimtes en de kleedkamers gevestigd. Hoewel de oorzaak van de brand nog onbekend is, mag worden aangenomen dat het vuur is aangestoken.)

(Op 30 oktober 1925 slaagt de beroemde Schotse wetenschapper John Logie Baird er voor het eerst in, draadloos een bewegend beeld van de ene kamer naar een andere door te zenden. De “Baird Televisor” wordt van 1928 tot 1937 in productie genomen en wordt op kleine schaal in Engeland toegepast. Het Baird systeem is in Nederland nooit officieel gebruikt. Het duurt nog drie jaar voordat de BBC het eerste programma uitzendt.)
